• Facts:
  Usually occurs in children 4-8 years old
• History / PE:
  Day dreaming episodes
  Brief staring spells
  Declining schol performance
  Absent post-ictal state
• Diagnosis:
  Generalized 3-Hz spike and wave activity on a normal background, provoked by hyperventilation (EEG)
• Treatment:
  Ethosuximide
  Valproic acid
