causing activation of complement components and release of inflammatory cytokines
History / PE
:
Fever and chills during or within a few hours of transfusion completion
Treatment
:
NSAIDs
Acetaminophen
Notes

Leukocyte depletion techniques can reduce probability (eg.
cell washing
)
