  • History / PE:
    Severe pain, radiating to back
    Nausea and vomiting
    Fever
    Flank disoloration (Grey Turner's sign)
    Periumbilical discoloration (Cullen's sign)
  • Diagnosis:
    Increases amylase, lipase
    Hypocalcemia
    "Sentinel loop" "colon cutoff sign" on AXR
  • Complications:
    Pancreatic pseudocyst
    Fistula formation
    Chronic pancreatitis
  • Associated With:
    Gallstones and ETOH
    Hypercalcemia
    Hypertriglyceridemia
    Viral infections
    Drugs ( depakote , thiazide diuretics )
