  • Facts:
    Fungal infection characterized by coarse fragmented septae

    Cavitary lesions form because of destruction of underlying lung parencyma, and debris and hyphae coalesce to form a fungus ball (aspergilloma)
  • History / PE:
    Intermittent hemoptysis
    Generalized malaise
    Fever, cough
  • Diagnosis:
    Mobile, cavitary mass
  • Treatment:
    Surgical excision
  • Differential Diagnosis:
    Histoplasmosis
    Bronchiectasis
