Tick bite
Jaundice
Hemoglobinuria
Diagnosis
:
Giemsa-stained
thick and thin smear
Elevated ESR
Decreased serum complement levels
Treatment
:
Quinine-clindamycin
Atovaquone-azithromycin
Complications
:
Renal failure
Death
Notes
:
Rare to see a rash
(unlike other tick borne illnesses)
