    MC cardiomyopathy
    End result of myocardial damage toxic, metabolic, infectious agents

  • History / PE:
    Recent URI, followed by sudden onset cardiac failure
  • Diagnosis:
    Low ejection fraction
    Dilated ventricles with diffuse hypokinesia
  • Associated With:
    Alcohol (macrocytic anemia, stop ETOH to reverse)
    Viral/idiopathic myocarditis (coxsackie B)
    Post partum myocarditis
