History / PE
:
Fever, eythema
Scrotal swelling
Tender/enlarged testicles
Diagnosis
:
Decreased pain with scrotal elevation (
+ Prehn's sign
)
UA, culture (pyuria)
Normal to increased blood flow to testes (doppler U/S)
Treatment
:
ABX
NSAIDs
Associated With
:
STIs (in younger patients)
UTI from E.coli / gram - rod (older patients)
Differential Diagnosis
:
Testicular torsion
(decreased blood flow to testes)
