Ethylene glycol poisoning
  • History / PE:
    Flank pain, hematuria, oliguria (ARF)
  • Diagnosis:
    Anion gap acidosis
    Elevated creatinine
    Calcium oxalate crystal deposition in kidneys
  • Treatment:
    1) Fomepizole or ethanol ( ADH inhibition)
    2) Sodium bicarbonate (correct acidosis)
    3) Hemolysis (if end organ damage)
