    Generally good G+ coverage
    Atypical pneumonias (Mycoplasma, Legionella, Chlamydia )
    Ear/sinus infections
    Poor G- coverage
  • Indications:
    1) Azithromycin (Zithromax)
    2) Clarithomycin (Biaxin, metallic taste)
    3) Clindamycin (Cleocin)
    4) Erythromycin (stomach upset)
  • Side Effects:
    Ototoxicity
    QT prolongation
  • Notes:
    Interacts with statins (increase chance of rhabdomyolysis) and fluconazole
