Mucormycosis
  • Facts:
    Fungal infection of the sinuses, brains, lungs
    MCC is Rhizopus
  • History / PE:
    Low grade fever
    Bloody nasal discharge
    Necrotic turbinates
  • Diagnosis:
    CT / MRI imaging
  • Treatment:
    Surgical debridement plus IV amphotercin B
  • Complications:
    Death if untreated
  • Associated With:
    Poorly controlled DM
    Immunocompromised
