  • Facts:
    Fungal scalp infection
    Mainly affects children
    Might have inflamed, boggy granuloma of scalp (kerion)
  • Diagnosis:
    If hair fluoresces under Wood's lamp, then Mircosporum spp.
    If no fluorescence, then Trichophyton spp.
  • Treatment:
    Oral antifungals (eg. terbinafine, fluconazole, itraconazole, griseofulvin)
