  • Facts:
    Superficial fungal infection of the skin
    Pityrosporon spp. infection
    Occurs MC in young adults
  • History / PE:
    Pale, velvety pink or whitish, hypopigmented macules that do NOT tan
    Becomes more noticeable in the summer
  • Diagnosis:
    Lesion scrapings (KOH preparation) show "spaghetti and meatballs"
  • Treatment:
    Selenium sulfide lotion and ketoconazole shampoo
