  • Facts:
    Sexually transmitted infection
  • History / PE:
    Malodorous, gray-green, thin, frothy vaginal discharge
    Vaginal and vulvar pruritis
    Dysuria, dyspareunia
  • Diagnosis:
    Wet mount, with visualization of highly motile, pear-shaped, flagellated organism

    pH in 5.0-6.0 range
  • Treatment:
    Flagyl
  • Differential Diagnosis:
    Bacterial vaginosis (does NOT cause inflammation, clue cells)
    Candida vaginitis (thick, white discharge)
