• Facts:
  For avg population, lifetime risk of 1%
  If 1st degree relative, then 10% risk
  If both parents have bipolar, then 60% risk
• Treatment:
  Lithium
  Carbamazepine
  Valproic acid
  Lamotrigine
• Notes:
  Bipolar I (one manic or mixed episode)
  Bipolar II (one MDE and one hypomanic episode)
  Rapid cycling ( > 4 episodes in one year)
  Cyclothymic
