    Impaired ventricular filling due to poor myocardial relaxation or diminished ventricular compliance
    Elevated diastolic pressures reduce cardiac output
  • History / PE:
    Progressive SOB
    History of HTN, with med noncompliance
    Atrial fibrillation
    Bibasilar crackles
    Pitting edema
  • Treatment:
    Diuretics
    Antihypertensives
  • Complications:
    Decompensated heart failure
  • Differential Diagnosis:
    Cardiogenic shock
    High output cardiac failure
