Duke criteria

  • Diagnosis:
    MAJOR

    1) At least two separate positive blood cultures for a typical organism
    2) Persistent bacteria with any organism
    3) Single positive culture of Coxiella burnetti


    MINOR

    1) Predisposing risk factors
    2) Fever > 38.3 C
    3) Vascular phenomena (septic emboli/infarcts, Janeway lesions )
    4) Immunologic (Clomerulonephritis, Osler's nodes , Roth's spots )
    5) Microbiological evidence that does not meet MAJOR cirteria
  • Associated With:
    Infective endocarditis
