Membranous glomerulonephritis

• Facts:
  Nephrotic syndrome
  MC nephropathy in Caucasian adults
• Diagnosis:
  "Spike-and-dome " appearance due to granular deposits of IgG and C3 at the basement membrane
• Treatment:
  Prednisone and cytotoxic therapy (severe disease)
• Complications:
  Renal vein thrombosis ( antithrombin III is lost in the urine )
• Associated With:
  1) Active hepatitis B (especially in children)
  2) Syphilis
  3) Malaria
  4) Gold
