Porphyria cutanea tarda

• Facts:
  Deficiency of uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (enzyme in heme synthesis)
  Triggered by certain substances (eg. ethanol, estrogrens)
• History / PE:
  Painless blisters
  Facial hypertrichosis
  Increased skin fragility
  Hyperpigmentation
• Diagnosis:
  Elevated porphyin levels
  Urine fluoresces orange-pink color (with Wood's lamp exam)
• Treatment:
  Phlebotomy
  Hydroxychloroquine
• Associated With:
  Hepatitis C
