Scabies Sarcoptes scabiei

• Facts:
  Highly contagious
• History / PE:
  Severe, generalized pruritis
  MC on finger webs, heels of palms, wrist creases
  
• Diagnosis:
  Ova, mites, feces (lesion scrapings and microscopic examination)
• Treatment:
  Premethrin cream
  Treat all contacts
  Do not use lindane unless premethrin not an option
• Side Effects:
  Lindane causes neurotoxicity, esp in younger children
