Torsades de pointes

• History / PE:
  Sudden death
  Palpitations
  Dizziness
  Syncope
• Diagnosis:
  Polymorphous QRS
  VT with rates b/w 150 and 250bpm
  
• Treatment:
  1) MAGNESIUM SULFATE and withdraw offending drugs
  2) Correct hypokalemia , give magnesium
  3) Cardiovert if unstable

  Long QT syndrome
  Proarrhythmic response to medications
  Hypokalemia , hypomagnesemia
  Congenital deafness
  Drugs (eg. amiodarone , sotalol)
