MC serious ocular complication of HIV patients
History / PE:
Painless Not usually associated with keratitis or conjunctivitis
Diagnosis:
Hemorrhages and fluffy or granular lesions around the retinal vessels
Associated With:
Opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients
Differential Diagnosis:
Both HSV retinitis and VCV retinitis cause severe, acute retinal necrosis associated with PAIN, keratitis, uveitis, and fundoscopic findings of peripheral pale lesions and central retinal necrosis
