Severe, devastating intraocular inflammation
History / PE
:
1)
Acute retinal necrosis
syndrome (rapidly progressing bilateral necrotizing retinitis)
2) Keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) and conjunctivitis
3)
Painful
loss of vision
Diagnosis
:
Widespread, pale, peripheral lesions and central retinal necrosis
Associated With
:
Immunocompromised patients
Differential Diagnosis
:
VCV retinitis
CMV retinitis
(painLESS, no conjunctivitis or keratitis)
