  • Facts:
    Rapidly progressive bilateral cellulitis of the submaxillary and sublingual spaces

    Infection classically arises from an infected second or third mandibular molar
  • History / PE:
    Fever
    Dysphagia
    Odynophagia
    Drooling
  • Treatment:
    Antibiotics
    Removal of infected tooth
  • Complications:
    Death (asphyxiation)
  • Associated With:
    Streptococcus
    Anaerobes
