Rinne Test
  • Facts:
    Tuning fork placed over mastoid process, then placed next to ear
    Usually air conduction (when fork is next to ear) tone is louder than bone conduction (when fork placed on mastoid process)
    If bone conduction > air conduction, think conductive hearing loss (eg. otosclerosis )
